Sanwo-Olu imposes 24 hours curfew in Lagos
“I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October,2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.” the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said in his statement.

Indefinite closure of schools in lagos state - #EndSars
Due to the high tensions generated by the ongoing ENDSARS protests and anti-police brutality protests, the Lagos State Government has directed all students in public and private schools to stay at home infinitely on till further notice.
The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, who issued the directive today, said the safety of the pupils and students, parents and all staff working in schools is paramount at this critical period.
Folasade Adefisayo has however, advised parents to keep an eye on their wards and not allow them to be used as willing tools in the hands of those who might want to hijack the protests to unleash mayhem on the society.
The commissioner also encouraged schools to utilize other means of distance teaching and learning i.e radio, television and online media as they have been doing during and post the recent COVID-19 lockdown.
Adefisayo stated that a new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.

PDP's candidate wins Adamawa Governorship election
Ahdamu Fintiri was the former acting governor of the state and he secured the total votes of 376, 552 to defeat the All Progressive Congress candidate and incumbent Governor Jibrilla Bindow who had the total votes of 336,386.
Ahdamu Fintiri was declared the winner by the Returning Officer for the election at the early hours of Friday, bringing to a conclusion a dramatic collation process.
The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) had declared the election inconclusive. According to Professor Andrew Haruna the Returning officer, the margin of the lead of 32,476 between the PDP and the APC candidates was less than the 40,988 votes that were cancelled.He explained that he was constrained to return a winner by such a situation and therefore declared the election inconclusive.
The election witnessed low turnout of voters but was adjudged by local observers as free, fair and peaceful.
